indian physicist, plant physiologist and inventor well known for his demonstration that plants respond to external stimuli. he desingned and constructed several simple but sensitive instruments to instrumets to measure the growth and response of plbnts to stimuli. he is also credite with inventing a wireless transmission system that went unrecognized, much before MARCONI. he also founded the BOSE INSTITUTE. he was elected FRS in 1920.
